The island's own day, and by far its busiest. Saint Nektarios is Aegina's patron and the monastery he founded at Kontos draws pilgrims from across Greece and abroad.
Expect the island to be full. Extra ferries run from Piraeus, the road to Kontos is heavy from early morning, and many shops and offices on Aegina close for the day even though it is not a national holiday.
If you live here and have errands, do them another day.
