An impressive robbery reminiscent of scenes from a film was noted Tuesday morning in Ramsay, Cambridgeshire, Britain, when a gang used a crane to rip an ATM out of a branch of the Nationwide Building Society.
The incident occurred shortly after 3:15 in the morning, with the perpetrators managing to remove the machine and leave the site, having detached tens of thousands of pounds. Video from security cameras records the moment two vehicles stop near the bank branch, while soon afterwards a crane appears. The heavy vehicle repeatedly hits the facade of the building, until the ATM is "rooted" from its position.

A group of maskers then load the ATM into the back of a truck and leave the site. A few seconds later, two more people board a second vehicle and are removed, completing the escape operation.
According to the Cambridgeshire Police, the crane used in the robbery is estimated to be stolen, while three vehicles totaled the operation. Authorities also clarified that a bakery truck, which appears to stop near the point when the perpetrators were loading the ATM, is not related to the robbery.
In an announcement, the Nationwide Building Society reported that it has been informed of the incident and is working to get the branch reopened in the next few days, while at the same time going on to replace the ATM as soon as possible.
Police continue investigations and appeal to witnesses or citizens with security cameras or vehicle recordings to contact the authorities, reporting case number 35/44789/26.
