The tropical storm Arthur was formed next to the Texas coast and is expected to cause life-threatening flooding in parts of the southeastern US, it was today known by the American Cyclone Center.
This is the first storm to be named for the Atlantic cyclones period for 2026.
The storm is located at a distance of about 60 km east-northeast of Port O'Connor, Texas, accompanied by winds of a maximum speed of 65 km/h.

The Arthur tropical storm is expected to cause rain whose height will reach between 12 and 25 cm. Water height could be greater on Friday reaching 25 cm, in parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, but also Georgia and Florida, warns this Miami-based weather service.
These phenomena could cause dangerous to life-threatening momentary flooding, highlighted.
