US President Donald Trump said from the G7 summit that inform Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that Israel should be satisfied by Agreement with Iran, as he said, the risk of obtaining a nuclear weapon from Tehran is eliminated. His statements come at a time when Israel allegedly has serious reservations about the content of the agreement.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, argued that Israel has every reason to positively address the agreement signed by the United States with Iran, as it considers that the key security issue employed by the Israeli leadership is being addressed through its predictions.
Speaking at a press conference on the margins of the G7, Trump revealed some of the talks he had with Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
"To drop a nuclear weapon in downtown Israel"
"I told Bibi that the greatest danger was to fire a nuclear weapon in downtown Israel," the American president said, using Netanyahu's well-known nickname.
Continuing, Trump said he reminded the Israeli Prime Minister of the basic request the Israeli side put forward over time.
"Think about it, Bebe. The most important thing you wanted was this," Trump said, referring to the goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
"I therefore believe they are happy," added the US president referring to Israel.
His statements, however, contradict information published in recent hours in the Israeli press and according to which the Israeli leadership faces the agreement with particular scepticism.
New negotiations within the next two months
According to the same reports, Israel considers that the agreement essentially includes only Tehran's commitment not to acquire a nuclear weapon, without providing for immediate additional concessions from the Iranian side.
In addition to this commitment, Iran has only agreed to participate in new negotiations over the next two months in order to examine any additional measures and concessions under a final agreement.
During this period, Tehran is expected to benefit from a significant relaxation of economic sanctions, which causes concerns in circles of the Israeli government and the defence establishment.
The US-Iran agreement provides, inter alia, for the opening of a procedure for lifting US sanctions, the release of Iranian funds, the gradual restoration of navigation in the Straits of Hormuz and the opening of negotiations on a comprehensive settlement within 60 days.
