The American central bank (Fed), now headed by Kevin Wars, has today kept its interest rates unchanged within the range of 3.50% to 3.75%, implying that an increase of 25 basis points is possible in 2026.
The decision on interest rates was unanimously taken, which had not happened for a year.
According to its forecasts for the American economy, the Fed expects growth slowing and rising inflation at the end of the year, with the impact of the war on the Middle East on the background.
