At least 35 protesters are accused of blocking the highway leading from Tirana Albanian capital airport during a Sunday night protest, Albanian police announced today.

As part of a mobilisation on Sunday, as every day since 30 May, in order to protest the plan to build a luxury tourist complex – which is linked to US President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka, and her husband Jared Kushner. – some protesters marched and ended up blocking the highway.

"After investigations by the judicial authorities on road blockades in Tirana by organizers (mobilisers) and protesters (...) prosecuted 16 citizens," according to a bulletin Press, which points out that 19 other people have already been charged with the same case and two are still being sought.

A protest gathering took place tonight, but without causing incidents.

Protesters have announced that they intend to continue their mobilisations until their demands are met – including the cancellation of the construction project of the tourist complex, the abolition of the law on strategic investors, respect for protected areas and the resignation of socialist Prime Minister Eddie Rama.
