His two-year Olympic gold medalist, Monto Duplantis, and Swedish influencer and model Desiré Inglader joined in the bonds of marriage on June 12, 2026 in South France, after six years of relationship. The ceremony took place at Château de Castellaras near Cannes and culminated in a three-day celebration with relatives and friends from around the world.

The love story of the Olympic champion and world recordman of short, Monto Duplantis, and Swedish influencer and model Desiré Inglader began in the summer of 2020, in a way that, as they admit themselves, could not be more Swedish.

"We first met in summer 2020, at the summer solstice celebration," Duplantis told Vogue. A few months later, shortly before returning to the United States, he decided to contact her again and ask her out on a date, as reported in the magazine Vogue.

"Mondo told me he would want to take me on our first date," Inglander recalls. From that moment on, their relationship evolved rapidly, with the two becoming inseparable as she developed her presence on social media and he was breaking a world record and winning gold Olympic medals.

The proposal to marry in the Hamptons
In October 2024 Duplantis prepared a surprise that his companion had not realized.

"Mondo told me that we would make a digital cover for Vogue Scandinavia and I had no idea that my entire family, my best friends and his family were traveling simultaneously to the Hamptons," said Inglander.

"He proposed to me on the shore and when we went up to the house, all our loved ones were there as a surprise. It was so special to share such an important moment with those you love.".

Marriage in South France
The couple actually began organizing the wedding in the spring of 2025. They chose as a date on 12 June 2026 and as a place in Southern France.

The celebrations began with a welcome party at Villa Eilenroc in Antib, continued with the ceremony at Château de Castellaras on the hills behind Cannes and were completed with a pool party at Villa Castel.

"We knew from the beginning that we wanted to marry in southern France, as we have spent a lot of time there, at my mother's house and her husband's," the bride explained. "In addition, it is near our new base in Monaco".

The couple admits that many of the issues of their organization were completely unknown.

"Mondo mainly took over music and food, while I took over flowers and details," Inglander said.

The wedding dress inspired by Grace Kelly

For the great day, the bride wanted to honor her Swedish roots.

"Although we chose South France, it was important for me to bring along a piece of my origin," he said.

For this reason she worked with Swedish designer Ida Lando, with whom she had also worked in the past.

The wedding dress, inspired by Grace Kelly, was made of silk oranza and had a heart-shaped bust, narrow waist, rich skirt with long tail and bolero with long lace sleeves.

For her jewelry she chose creations of Tiffany & Co., including a diamond pendant in emerald cutting and earrings with pearls and diamonds.

"I remember walking young in New York City and looking at Tiffany's big inscription in Manhattan. I was thinking that someday I'd like to wear their jewels. In my marriage they made this dream come true," he said.

Duplantis' white tux
Duplantis was inspired by his marriage ensemble by two persons: James Bond and his father.

"My father was wearing a white tuxedo at his wedding and I wanted to honor him," he explained.

He wore a white jacket with black pants, created by Saman Amel, while combined the ensemble with Morjas shoes and Omega De Ville Trésor watch.

Bridesmaids appeared with blue creations of Shona Joy, while the groom's friends wore specially designed Tiger of Sweden tuxes.

The ABBA music ceremony
The bride's entrance to the ceremony took place under the sounds of the song "Slipping Through My Fingers" by ABBA.

"As soon as the pianist started playing, I started crying with joy," recalls Inglader.

She described the ceremony as one of the calmest and happiest moments of her life.

"I stood next to the man I love more than anything, in front of the people I love the most. I felt completely grounded and happy.".

Duplantis stood particularly in the coexistence of different cultures.

“ Half my relatives and friends are from Louisiana and the other half, like my wife and her family, are Swedish. With a few more international friends an incredible mix of energy was created. We really felt how dear we are.".

The reception and the party until morning
After the exchange of personal vows and the "I accept", a reception with a champagne tower followed by dinner.

The bride changed twice appearance during the evening, initially choosing a lace dress by Ida Lando and later a mini dress by French designer Antoine Guerren, decorated with a thousand handmade goose wings.

The wedding cake included Sweden's three royal crowns and Fleur-de-lis, as a reference to the Swedish and Louisiana roots of the couple.

The next morning the celebrations continued with a pool party in a villa in Cannes. The bride appeared in a Vivienne Westwood dress, while the groom again chose Tiger of Sweden. Soon afterwards both dived into the pool along with their friends.

The newlyweds described the three-day as the most beautiful of their lives.

"In the car going for our honeymoon we looked and started laughing. We wondered: “How can life be real right now?” they said.
