The problems of mental health of the Greek population are constantly increasing, a trend reflected in the demand of the relevant services. The annual report for 2025 of the Society for Social Psychiatry P. Sakellaropoulos, which is the official provider of mental health services of the Ministry of Health, confirms this increase, since the numbers of beneficiaries of citizens and individual sessions are large.
Impressive is the number of individual appointments (10,763) conducted by health professionals of the Fokida Mobile Mental Health Unit last year. According to what is stated in the report, in the prefecture of Fokida all beneficiaries in 2025 amounted to 708, of which 134 are young beneficiaries. Similarly, the Mobile Unit of Evros – Rodopis measured the previous year 1,407 beneficiaries, 510 young beneficiaries, while 12,933 therapeutic operations were carried out, i.e. individual appointments. The demand for mental health services is evident from the action of the Mobile Unit of Piraeus, to which 631 new beneficiaries were added last year.
