A great message of life, hope and magnanimousness is sent by the family of 40-year-old photographer from Heraklion, who last week was lured by a vehicle to the contribution of the National Resistance Avenue with Papandreou Street.

The planned organ donation protocols have already been put in place in PAGNI, with the family giving her consent to offer the heart, liver, kidneys and corneas of the 40-year-old, giving hope to people awaiting a valuable gift of life.

Tragic car accident occurred when the unfortunate father had accompanied the older child of the family, aged 6, in extracurricular activity. Returning on foot to his car, where his wife and younger child, aged 4.5, were found, was swept away by a passing vehicle.

The car was driven by a 50 - year - old man, who left him at the scene. However, authorities managed to track him down and arrest him.

From the severeness of drift, the 40-year-old was hurled into the pavement and suffered severe craniocerebral injuries. He was rushed to PAGNI, where he was hospitalized in extremely critical condition.

Despite the superhuman efforts of doctors and the battle he fought for a week, his health situation could not be reversed. Thus, the protocols for the certification of brain death were put in place, clearing the way for organ donation.

The unfortunate 40-year-old was a particularly dear person in the local community of Heraklion, as was his father, with the news spreading grief to relatives, friends and acquaintances.

In her unspeakable pain, his family chose to turn tragedy into a life offering, giving a sound example of humanity, courage and solidarity.
