For the third consecutive time the case concerning her death was not dealt with. 14 year old Sunday, which resulted in the December 2021 from complications of Covid-19, having previously been transferred to Lamia Hospital, where he remained for more than four hours in the case sorting container without receiving the necessary help.

Two doctors at Lamia Hospital are expected to sit on the stand, charged with manslaughter by omission.

The case was scheduled to be tried on the morning of June 18 and was first in the order of the painting. However, on the part of the second defendant a request was made for a postponement due to a health problem. The court, citing its single crisis, accepted the request and set a new date of trial on 19 November 2026.

According to the labiareport.gr, the 14-year-old had been treated by ambulance in Lamia Hospital at 09:30 in the morning of 4 December 2021, having been diagnosed with Covid-19 infection through a rapid test performed on 29 November. With her were her mother and younger sister, who had also found themselves positive in the coronavirus.

According to the indictment, about an hour after her arrival, at 10:30, she was examined by the accused doctor, who requested laboratory tests, a velocatheter and serum be placed, as well as an electrocardiogram performed.

As mentioned in both the case-file and the EDE conducted by Professor Pediatrics of Larisa University Hospital, Ioanna Grivea, the electrocardiogram was already showing signs of a problem at that time. Nevertheless, the girl allegedly remained without the necessary medical care until nearly 13:30, while in the meantime the accused doctor had also informed the second doctor charged with the case.

Aunt's testimony
Then, there around 13:30’ according to the testimony of the aunt of the wrongful girl and after the patience of everyone had been exhausted, this woman asked the nurses who were at the reception to come see her niece because her clinical picture has now become worse.

Immediately after the doctor appeared who was not dressed, but held the uniform in hands to dress and enter the container to examine the 14-year-old.

When mother and aunt informed the doctor that the girl was not well at all, she looked out the window and seeing the 14-year-old, threw away the covid uniform she was holding and entered the container without the uniform.

Immediately afterwards they took the girl into the emergency room (in septic) where she became ultrasound, CT and other tests, and ICU doctors and anesthesiologists were also called. Unfortunately, however, time had already begun to count backwards for the unfortunate Sunday, which when it entered the ER already had very low pressure, chest pain and numbness in the lower jaw.

A real battle of doctors followed in order to stabilise her condition and intubate to be safely transported to the Children's Hospital "Agia Sophia", but although they managed to regroup her the first time, there was a second arrest with the girl ending at 17:25".

In these dramatic hours their girl was lost, mother and aunt were outside the E.R. seeing anxiety and mobility without knowing exactly what was going on. What they knew was that by 2:00’ had arrived an ambulance with EKAB rescuers dressed in covid uniforms, to pick up their child and transport it to Children in Athens.
