Methodical monitoring, information exploitation, and a coordinated operation led the Police Sub-Directorate of Mykonos to the tracks of a 35-year-old Albanian, who allegedly had undertaken the trafficking of cocaine, pink cocaine (TUSI) and MDMA on the island of Winds.

According to information from the Protothema, police officers had long gathered evidence showing that this man was supplying clients with drugs in various parts of Mykonos.

Following the evaluation of the information a special group of police officers was set up, under the supervision of Service officers, which started discreet investigations and surveillance. Suspect's movements were mapped, while police officers managed to locate his residence in the area of Saint Sophia.

On Wednesday afternoon the police spotted him in the Marathi area and proceeded to stop him. An investigation was followed at his residence, in the presence of a court officer, in which small amounts of MDMA were found packed in pins, but also several plastic packagings from the well-known painkiller Depon Maximum.

The real find, however, was a few meters away. Police officers spotted an immobilized and seemingly abandoned scooter in the surrounding residential area.

As it was found, the bicyclo operated as an open-air drug reserve. Inside Depon Maximum boxes were hidden dozens of cocaine fixtures, amounts of pink cocaine (TUSI) and MDMA, ready for disposal. A total of 45 cocaine cartridges weighing 41.7 grams were seized, three TUSI packs weighing 41.5 grams and 30 MDMA cartridges weighing 32 grams, while another 1,190 euros and a mobile phone were found in its possession.

Police estimate that the total amount of drugs could generate an illegal profit exceeding 12,000 euros.

A defining role in assessing the case was played both the quantity and variety of substances and the way they are packed in dozens of ready-made fixtures, which, according to the authorities, refers directly to organised trafficking and not to personal use.
