The U.S. - Iran meeting memorandum, already signed yesterday by Donald Trump and Masud Pezeskian, was also ratified today by Sebaz Sharif.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, who acted as the main intermediary in the negotiations of the two sides, signed for his part the relevant document, which puts an end to the conflicts, opens the Straits of Hormuz and leads to a new round of negotiations on a number of open issues, with Iran's nuclear programme as its main focus.

Yesterday, a short time after the Trump – Pezeskian signatures, Sharif welcomed this development, writing in a post that "the signing of this agreement at the highest level of the respective governments proves the commitment of both sides to a diplomatic solution to the conflict. The Islamabad Meeting Memorandum will enter into force with immediate effect and as a first step, the Islamic Republic of Iran will immediately open the Straits of Hormuz and the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade.".
