The former Sculudi warehouses, at the 10th kilometer of National Road of Heraklion – Squadrons, selected the Ministry of Migration and Asylum as a temporary place for hosting and managing migratory flows in Heraklion.
According to sources of the ministry, Thanos Plyris informed the regional chief of Crete about this. Stavros Arnautakis and the Mayor of Heraklion Alexi Summer.
As reported, steps of the ministry have already carried out autopsy on site and are in consultation with the owner of the property, in order to make the necessary progress technical interventions procedures for the operation of the structure within July.
The space will function as closed temporary structure, standards of its exhibition space Saint in Chania.
In the same sources, this option was decided after the discussions that had taken place with the Local government in recent times, while it is noted that the need for new space is linked to the peak of the summer season and to the fact that the temporary space in the Refrigerator is deemed inappropriate.
