Ukraine and Germany signed an agreement on counter-balistic capabilities, President Volontim Zelenski said Thursday, calling on other Western allies to participate in the effort and achieve results by winter.

Speaking at a meeting of the Contact Group on the Defence of Ukraine, known as the Ramstein Group, Zelenski said that Ukraine urgently needs long-range artillery and drone vehicles. He also called for additional financial instruments to be developed for the long-term financing of the Ukrainian army.

Britain will provide 150,000 drones in Ukraine by the end of 2026 under the $996 million funding package, Defence Minister Dan Jarvis also said today at the Contact Group meeting on the Defence of Ukraine in Brussels.

The package, funded by the £2.26 billion loan granted by Britain to Ukraine, includes 350 air defence missiles and ground radar systems.

The loan is secured by revenue from from frozen state assets of Russia.

Jarvis, who was co-chaired in the meeting along with his German counterpart, met with US Defence Minister Pete Hegseth and other Defence Ministers, including representatives of France and Ukraine.
