Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on Thursday, on the margins of the ELK Summit, with the new Prime Minister of Hungary, Peter Mayar, Victor Orban's successor in office.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary of International Relations of the Republic of Tassos Hatzivassiliou.

It is the first meeting of the two men since the election of Mayar, in April, as it is the first summit in which he participates.

The meeting took place in a good climate, given that Mayar is considered a much more European politician than Orban, who had come into conflict with EU institutions many times but with its leader for European decisions.
