Special reference is made to Cyprus and the pseudo-state is made in the announcement of the Turkish National Security Council, which met today Thursday under the chairmanship of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In a communication issued immediately after its meeting, it is noted that "Turkey in its capacity as guarantor of a country is capable and determined to take all measures under international law on the security, peace and well-being of Turkish Cypriots". In this context, the Council emphasises with emphasis that 'no achievement will be allowed to harm the rights and interests of the 'TSDB' and disrupt the climate of peace in the Eastern Mediterranean'.
In detail the announcement:
The national security council met on 18 June 2026 under the chairmanship of Turkey's president, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the meeting:
1. Information has been provided to the Council on activities carried out with commitment, determination and success, within and outside the country, against any kind of threat and danger directed against our national unity, solidarity and standing [or survival], primarily against the terrorist organisations PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ and DAESH, as well as on recent international developments.
2. The work carried out in order to achieve the objectives of 'Turkey without Terrorism' and 'Region without Terrorism', which are crucial to the future of our country and our region, has been evaluated and the strong will to rid our nation and our neighbours of the heavy burden of terrorism has been confirmed.
3. The operations carried out in the fight against organised crime have been examined, it has been stressed that the measures taken to ensure the complete preservation of the peace and security of all our citizens, primarily our children and young people, will continue with determination.
4. It was stressed that Turkey, in its capacity as guarantor of a country, is capable and determined to take all measures under international law for the security, peace and well-being of Turkish Cypriots. It has been noted that no successful outcome will be allowed to harm the rights and interests of the TDBK and disrupt the climate of peace in the Eastern Mediterranean.
5. There was satisfaction in reaching an agreement between Iran and the US, and the importance of not disrupting the process was stressed. It was noted that Turkey will continue to contribute actively to efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
6. It was said that the progress made in establishing peace, stability and peace in Syria was welcomed and it was underlined that our support for efforts to strengthen Syria's unity and integrity, as well as its development, will continue.
7. It was noted that the offensive actions of the Israeli Administration, which continues the violations of the Gaza truce, the terror of settlers on the West Bank, the attacks on the East Jerusalem regime and Tennes Al-Aksa, and insults Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, adversely affect efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.
The international community is called upon to demonstrate an attitude of principle towards the persistent attitude of the Israeli Administration, which despises global human values and international law.
8. Our strong will to continue strategic cooperation with Iraq has been confirmed in all areas, and with the new government of Iraq. Our support for maintaining the stability and security climate in Iraq was stressed.
9. The current situation in the Russian-Ukraine war was examined and an appeal was made to the parties responsible for the escalation of conflicts and their expansion, particularly in the Black Sea, to take immediate steps towards a just and lasting peace.
10. The progress of developments across the African continent has been assessed; it was noted that Turkey will continue its support for maintaining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the friendly and sister African countries, as well as for establishing peace, stability and prosperity on the continent.
11. Current developments in strengthening peace, stability and cooperation in the South Caucasus have been examined.
