Resurrection was caused yesterday morning at the General Hospital of Rhodes, when large quantities of water caused flooding on the first floor and the collapse of part of the pseudoroof.
The Gastrointestinal Clinic and the area outside the surgery filled with water, but despite the images that caused concern, there was no risk for patients or workers. Hospital staff were mobilized immediately, while cleaning crews proceeded to remove the water, quickly limiting the consequences of the damage.
For the incident was placed the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, who said the damage was caused by old abuses of the water network and is not linked to the projects implemented through the Recovery and Durability Fund.
"This is the water brutal that broke yesterday at the General Hospital of Rhodes and caused the damage it took to the media. As you can see, it is an old brutal and has nothing to do with TAA's works," he said in his post.
The Minister added that he has already started work through NSRF to fully replace the hospital's water supply network, pointing out that the existing infrastructure is in poor condition due to old age. "We have already started work through NSRF to change the entire network, because it is really in bad shape due to old age," he noted.
