At an impressive pace Greek tourism continues to move in 2026, recording a significant increase in both arrivals and revenues as early as the first months of the year. The strong performance of April, which was also strengthened by the occasion of the Catholic Easter, confirms the expectations for further expansion of the tourist season and for new high levels of receipts in a year that began with highly positive prospects, according to data from the Bank of Greece.
This year's tourist year seems to build on last year's performance, which had been a reference point for Greek tourism. The figures for the first four months record a notable strengthening of travel activity, with the increase of revenue even exceeding the rate of arrival.
Overall, during January – April travel receipts amounted to 2.79 billion euros, showing an increase of 36.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2025. At the same time, arrivals of foreign visitors increased by 27.1%, confirming that Greece continues to attract an increasing number of travelers from international markets.
This development is of particular importance as it comes after a year of landmark for the industry. The fact that performance is not only maintained but also strengthened shows that demand for the Greek destination remains strong and that efforts to extend the tourist season are beginning to deliver substantial results.
