Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragci today accused Israel of seeking a "perpetual war", following the statement by far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvere that "all Lebanon must be burned", "after the death of four Israeli soldiers.

"This is not the delirium of a random mad genocide. It is a public statement by the Israeli National Security Minister," Aragchi wrote to X.

"The genocidal sect of death, based in Tel Aviv, poses a threat to all humanity. .. Her only goal is a lasting war," added Aragci.

Iran condemned Israel attacks on Lebanon and warned of their consequences for regional peace and security, saying the United States bore direct response for the situation.

Referring to the US-Iran understanding memorandum achieved this week, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bagay said that stopping the war in Lebanon is an integral part of the agreement to end hostilities on all fronts and added that Iran will take all necessary measures to protect its interests, security and allies.
