L’Étape Greece by Tour de France, the leading cycling race that brings to Greece the experience and the racing spirit of the most recognizable organization of the worldwide cycling of the Round of France, returns for the 5th consecutive year, Sunday, April 4, 2027, and for the 2nd time in Sparta, placing Laconia again in the international cycling arena.
The institution takes place in co-organization EVALUATION, Region of Peloponnese, and Municipality of Sparta, with the support of the Spartan Gymnastic Association, the Municipalities of Eurota and Eastern Mani and under the auspices of the Hellenic Cycling Federation (EOP) and the University of Peloponnese, confirming the dynamics of Greece on the map of major international cycling events.
Under the shadow of Taygetos and with the background of the Land of 300, L’Étape Greece by Tour de France invites cyclists from around the world to start and finish in front of Leonidas Statue. Through a route, where Sparta's historical heritage meets the spirit of Tour de France and every kilometer is made for each athlete a test of endurance, will and character.
With the dynamics of last year's successful event, which attracted more than 2,000 cyclists and visitors from 28 countries, L’Étape Greece by Tour de France 2027 aspires to welcome even more athletes from Greece and the world.
In the heart of cycling experience are two routes aimed at both experienced and amateur athletes and open the way to qualification in the world L’Etape du Tour de France 2027. The long route, The Race, spanning 140 km to 1,700 meters of elevation difference and addressed cyclists looking for a demanding racing teren. The second, The Ride, 67 km long with 1,250 meters of elevation difference, offers a more accessible but equally strong experience for those who want to live the Tour de France pulse.
L’Étape Greece by Tour de France is not just a race. It is a complete sporting organization of international standards, which brings together the competitive challenge, the cycling tourism and the international promotion of Greece through an institution of global recognition.
