The current Vice-President of the Supreme Court Panayiotis Lyberopoulos first highlighted on the list the proposed candidates to fill the position of President of the country's highest court the conference of the Speakers of the Parliament.
After a marathon meeting at which the members of the conference listened to all the candidates who attended the procedure followed a vote and Mr. Lyberopoulos came first with 15 votes, second ranked Socrates Plasticas by 10 votes and third by Panayiotis Venizelos by 9.
The decision of the conference shall be of an advisory nature and shall be communicated to the Cabinet which shall take the final decision.
