The large-scale air exercise "Ramstein Flag 26", conducted under the coordination of NATO's Allied Air Command (AIRCOM), was completed today, Friday, June 19.
As announced by the General Aviation Staff (GEA), the exercise was held simultaneously in two Joint Operations Areas ( JOA), northern Europe with host countries Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland and southern Europe with a host country in Spain.
The exercise involved air forces from 18 allied countries, performing complex air operations scenarios at regular level.
The Air Force participated with a range of 4 Rafale aircraft of 332 Squadron from the 114 Battle Wing, which were relocated to the Evenings Air Base of the Kingdom of Norway as well as 4 F-16 aircraft of 337 Squadron from the 110 Battle Wing, which were relocated to Los Llanos Air Force Base, in Albacete, Spain.
During the exercise, the Greek mission took part in demanding operational scenarios and co-education activities with Allied countries' air forces, in order to practice the design and execution of air operations and the implementation of procedures and tactics of the Alliance, is added to the announcement.
"Ramstein Flag" is the newest series of AIRCOM exercises, providing an advanced training environment for multiple business sectors, with emphasis on tackling modern and emerging threats.
Air Force involvement in the exercise, contributed to further strengthening operational readiness, interoperability, and combined action capability with the Allied Air Forces, concludes the announcement.
