'We do not want Members, because we do not want Greek Left Coalition to have a voice in this House, especially when our chairman, Alexis Tsipras, handed over his seat," said the Deputy spokesperson for the Greek Left Coalition (ELAS), Nikos Nyfoudis, today speaking to Status FM 107.7.
Asked about the possibility of joining executives from Syriza or other political areas, Mr. Nyfoudis made it clear that there will be no exceptions. "There is no different rule for MPs, party presidents or ordinary citizens".
As he explained, anyone who wishes to participate in the Greek Left Alliance should follow the same process of registration and evaluation by the party bodies. "But Mrs. Ahtsioglu, having resigned and delivered her seat, can enter myelas.gr and participate as a volunteer," she said.
Nikos Nyfoudis said that for everyone the process of joining the ELAS of Alexis Tsipras is the same, but referring to the president of Syriza separated him from the MPs and executives of Syriza: I don't think Socrates Famellus wishes to leave his party and register as a member of the Greek Left Coalition, because he is president of the party and he is fighting for it (...) Whoever wants, enters myelas.gr we have surpassed 50,000 entries, submits his resume and will testify his candidacy and the ballot committees will decide whether to be candidates or not," he stressed among others.
