Works with which the digital transformation of Justice continues, such as the strengthening and extension of the information system of the National Criminal Register, the upgrading and extension of the Integrated System of Management of Judicial Affairs and Criminal Justice (2nd phase), as well as the implementation of the Electronic Documentary Record, were presented at a joint event of the ministries of Justice and Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence.

First, in the presence of Justice Ministers George Florides and Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence Dimitris Papastergiou, as well as the heads of the judiciary and law body, he was shown in the Ministry of Justice, a video on digital transformation projects in Justice.

More specifically, Mr. Florides stressed: "Today, after a great and coordinated effort, Justice's digital infrastructure is completed to a very satisfactory degree. But what we all understand is that these infrastructure to function to the extent that we would need will and education. So we are facing the next challenge, the next big step to enable these infrastructure to be used effectively.

That is why there should be a systematic and multifaceted training of the justice players, namely the judges of lawyers and judicial officers. When these systems fully function the current image of justice will have changed radically, Greek justice will correspond to the challenges of the 21st century.".

Mr Papastergios said: "In the Ministry of Digital Governance we are currently implementing projects of a total budget of around 3 billion euros, with more critical interventions that concern Justice and Health. In the area of Justice, digital transition is a change that is already under way. We have completed the digitisation of some 300 million pages of judicial material. To understand the size of the project, if we placed these pages next to each other, they would cover about 90,000 kilometers, that is, twice a round of Earth.

At the same time, with the new electronic file and the digital version of the Criminal Register, where already 60% of cases are handled without delay, we substantially improve the service of citizens and professionals. With modern digital infrastructure and new technologies we create a Justice faster, safer and more efficient for all. And indeed, it is the obligation of all of us to stand next to the Ministry and every court in order to continue the work done, because the works they have run are indeed very successful. That is why I must thank all those who worked at the level of computer systems, the Information Society, our contractors and partners.”.

Christoforos Linos addressed this year, President of the Trimel Council of Directors of the Athens Court of First Instance, Andreas Koutsolampos President of the Athens Bar Association and the plenary session of the Greek Bar Associations, Stavros Amethenidis, CEO of the Information Society and Dimitris Liatsos, member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Judicial Officers of Greece.
