Federal agents interviewed friends and associates of California governor Gavin Newsome as well as his wife, he said on Monday in a video he posted on social networks.
In the same video California governor accused American President Donald Trump of using the Justice Ministry to punish a political enemy.

"Donald Trump is not only attacking me because of my malicious tweets," Newsom says in the video. "He attacks me because I'm thinking of running for the presidency," he said and added that "to hit me, he attacks my wife.".
He even described the search investigation that “fish for items“ in which federal agents began searching for “years and years of random documents ” and knocking on the doors of friends of the Newsome family and associates, trying to find evidence of an undisclosed crime.
Newsome associates said that part of the federal investigation seems to focus on his wife, Jennifer Sibel Newsome, filmmaker focused on sexism.
Former officials of the governor and persons associated with his wife's non-profit organizations are among those questioned by agents, according to the governor's office.
However, a person familiar with the investigations said anonymously that more than one federal investigation related to the governor is under way, including one examining his wife's finances.
Investigations seem to have started with officers in California rather than headquarters in Washington.
The FBI refused to comment on the matter while the White House referred everything to the justice ministry.
