"As long as I am Prime Minister Iran will not acquire nuclear weapons," noted Benjamin Netanyahu in a press conference that followed the announcement of the US-Iran agreement to end the Middle East war.

As quoted by Times Of Israel, defending the results of the joint US-Israeli campaign against Iran and while receiving increasing internal criticism of the way the conflict was completed, Netanyahu stated that preventing Tehran's acquisition of nuclear weapons is a "send of life", confirming that Iran will never acquire a nuclear arsenal as long as it remains in power.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened his press conference with a dynamic defence of those he described as successes of the joint US-Israeli campaign against Iran, committing that, regardless of any agreement between Washington and Tehran, the Islamic Republic will not obtain nuclear weapons.

This agreement was made by the United States, by the President of the United States, and he believes that he can achieve both oversight and the dismantling of the nuclear program.

"It's the mission of my life"
Faced with increasing reactions within the country, even by officials of his own government, about the apparent end of the war, Netanyahu reiterated that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is the "send of life".

"By agreement or without agreement, Iran will have no nuclear weapons — neither today nor tomorrow. While I am the Prime Minister of Israel, this will not happen," he said.

The Israeli Prime Minister also reiterated his claim that the nuclear threat from Iran constituted a "direct danger" and that Israel managed to eliminate it "together with our American friends".

"We launched the biggest offensive operation in Israel's history. We targeted nuclear scientists. We have eliminated the leadership of the terrorist regime. We crashed the nuclear facility. We destroyed missiles and the vast majority of rocket-producing factories. We have affected countless military industries and infrastructure. We destroyed their navy and their air force. We took out base commanders who massacred the Iranian people. We caused huge damage — some estimate it to hundreds of billions of dollars and others even close to one trillion dollars — in Iran's economy," he said.

"We saved the State of Israel from extermination"
According to Netanyahu, these operations removed an existential danger to Israel.

"We have removed from us this risk of annihilating Israel's population for the coming years. That's what we got. We saved the State of Israel from extermination," he argued.

At the same time, he acknowledged that confrontation has not been definitively terminated.

"The race is not over and is not finished. We will need to keep vigilant, remain strong and determined and defend ourselves as much as necessary," he said.

Netanyahu stressed that this concerns not only Iran, but also the organisations he described as "terrorist arms" of Tehran. As he said, Israel will continue its operations against groups in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and the West Bank.

‘We will remain in safety belts for as long as it takes’
Responding indirectly to the concerns raised about possible American restrictions on Israel's freedom of action, he added that beyond operations against armed organisations in these areas, his country has created "deep safety zones" around its borders.

"We created deep security zones around Israel... in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria," he said, stressing that "we will remain in the security zones for as long as it takes to protect our country.".

At the same time, he assured that Israel would continue to neutralize threats in the wider region, while seeking to strengthen its diplomatic relations with both Middle East and non-region countries.

"We will continue to prevent threats in the region"
"We will continue to prevent threats in the region," the Israeli Prime Minister said, adding that his government will work to "build new alliances with countries in the region and outside the region" and "secure the independence of our security".

As part of this strategy, Netanyahu announced a significant strengthening of the country's defence budget.

"I have an additional 350 billion shekels (88 billion euros) in the defence budget," he said, arguing that this investment will allow Israel to develop even more advanced defence capabilities.

As he said, the country will go on developing technologies that "exceed the limits of imagination" and make Israel "an even stronger force" in the coming years.
