From Nice and specifically from the 17th of August square, Alexis Tsipras started the cycle of open meetings with the citizens, following the model of the events "Unmute Now" organized by young people in Thessaloniki and Athens.
In his speech, Alexis Tsipras stressed that he chooses to start his effort from Red, "the place of struggle and dignity", as he said.
"We start from the popular neighborhoods of Piraeus, because we want to represent the people of the work," he noted, giving the stigma of his policy.
At the same time, he thanked the citizens who, as he said, responded massively to the call for the signing of the founding declaration of EL.A.S.
"I want to say a big thank you to the tens of thousands of citizens who rushed to sign the founding declaration of the EL.A.S., which within 24 hours became a major opposition. In a few months we will be able to become a government, whenever the polls are set up," he said.

Mr. Tsipras launched a fierce attack on the government by talking about scandals, injustices and inequalities. "What we are living is not stability but a setback in the swamp of corruption. "The dilemma of the next election is stagnation or progress, corruption or honesty," he noted.
"Of course there are budgetary margins. But it matters whether you will exhaust them by re-establishing the social state by supporting healthists and educators or maintaining terrible social inequalities," he said elsewhere in his speech.

Tsipras said that at the heart of his policy are energy interventions (a minimum guaranteed amount of electricity at a fixed price for everyone), red loans, public transport support, but also the abolition of nationwide tests which he described as inhumane and psychopathic. This system must be changed and linked to a substantial upgrade of the school, he said. The fifth intervention, as he said, will concern the increase in wages to health care and teachers.
Closing his speech Tsipras said that Kyriakos Mitsotakis is afraid on the second Sunday and stressed that his goal is to defeat him in the first polls, not in the second.

The event was attended by, inter alia, the George Vasiliadis, Dionysis Tebneras, the presenter Thanasis Patras, and Gregory Theodorakis, Marisetta Antonopoulou and Athena Linou.
Among the guests at the event held in Nice was Dimitris Mitsotakis, a merchant of the region, who was invited to take part in the problems faced by traders in Nice. Clearly nervous about the fact that "one... Mitsotakis was speaking at an event by Alexis Tsipras," he noted that commercial activity in Nice has shrunk in recent years due to the intense competition created by the department stores and electronic markets platforms abroad.
