Her resignation from the position of deputy spokesperson for Democrats – Progressive Centre, as well as leaving the party, announced with an extensive posting on social media Efi Michelakis. In her text she refers to her route next to Stefanos Kasselakis, from the period of his election to the leadership of SYRIZA until the creation of the new political body, while expressing her disagreement with the current operation of the area.

At the same time, he states that he will always remain the political child of Andreas Papandreou, who he described as "the most charismatic leader who passed through Greece", closing her announcement with a characteristic phrase of the founder of PASOK for the decisions to be made "with his head high, without fear but with passion".

In detail her posting to social media:

‘Friends and friends,

From the first moment Stefanos Kasselakis appeared in the political scene I was impressed focusing on his positive characteristics.

I thought he had an excellent communication gift without arrogance, which I appreciate in people, so I choose to associate with him.

Of course then, I could not support the other side that claimed leadership because after 12 years in Syriza I had understood the gap between us in the perception of politics and in the conduct of Alexis Tsipras.

So I supported Stefanos Kasselakis in his election as president of SYRIZA with all my powers and so I continued to this day.

I'll never forget the coup d'état of those who saved their home, but they probably just changed the lock with the result of begging for a place in the new cottage.

As a member of the central committee then I did not accept entry into this mausoleum of wasteful democracy.

Along with many others we were among the first to start building the Movement of Democracy and we did it with great effort, daily presence in Taurus and in what concerns me daily television intervention to defend with my soul what I believed and also support Stephen. I assumed a responsibility that I served until the last moment.

Today, if I look next to me, there is none of those who were there every day in the difficult times, just because that is where our conscience led us and we thought we would create something new clean and democratic.

Usually the architect leaves first... I chose to leave recently, not out of weakness but out of responsibility for the foundations we designed but unfortunately these were narrowed.

I have not spoken until today and I am not going to go into details because I firmly believe that disagreements are to be resolved within. But when there is a field for solving them. I can no longer be part of an effort that I don't fit in with.

I have never been a viewer of developments or a servant of "closed groups" who are used to lack political thought. I'm not gonna do it now.

At the same time I left a place because of the exclusions of the few in many and I do not allow this to happen again. When a political space looks like what he wanted to fight doesn't leave any choices, it just makes you face your dignity. Personally, I don't give it to anyone.

My dream is not to become part of a small inner-party introversion against my ideology and values.

I supported Stefanos Kasselakis a lot as well as pleased with his recent acquittal. I'm fine with my conscience because I've been saying it ever since when others avoided supporting it in the big battles.

I will always remain the political child of the most gifted leader who has passed through Greece, he is no other than Andreas Papandreou and I resign as a deputy spokesperson while I also leave the Democracy Movement, today Democrats - Progressive centre, with his own phrase full of courage and feeling that are driving forces for life...

“The decisions for our future must be made by us, with our heads up, without fear but with passion. ‘

I thank all the people who hugged me in this space. The association and interaction had only real and wonderful features. I hope Stefanos Kasselakis stops the trolls who are trying to destroy anyone who disagrees. But if he doesn't, it's okay.

Efi Michelakis

Until today, Ann. Democratic Press Representative - Progressive Centre’.
