Notopoulou: I didn't ask for my name to be included in a PASOK poll

In a categorical rebuttal of reports that said she asked for her name to be included in a PASOK poll Katerina Notopoulou went on Facebook posting.

"These publications are absolutely false and have nothing to do with reality.

I have never addressed a polling company with such a request, nor in any way have I sought or attempted to intervene in an investigation involving another political body," writes Syriza MP.

"The logic and practices of political bargaining and footballing of political life suit the editors and informers of such untrue publications. These practices find me firmly opposed - and so I will continue. We continue the work" ends in her post Katerina Notopoulou.

I was surprised to learn the publication of unspoken and inaccurate allegations by Newsbeast and Pronews, according to which I supposedly asked for my name to be included in a poll involving another political party, namely PASOK.

These publications are completely false and have nothing to do with reality.

I have never addressed a polling company with such a request, nor in any way have I sought or attempted to intervene in an investigation involving another political body. This is construction without the slightest truth and reality, which offends my personal, political and institutional standing.

The trafficking of false information and the adoption of unruly "information" without an elementary intersection are not journalism, but conscious reproduction of slanderous allegations, with the obvious aim of creating false impressions.

That is why an out-of-court statement – an invitation to the media, calling for the immediate withdrawal and restoration of the truth, as well as the cessation of any reproduction of these false claims, without prejudice to any legal right to protect my personality, honor and reputation.

Political confrontation must be conducted in terms of truth, transparency and respect for institutions. The slander and spread of false news cannot be tolerated or unanswered.

My consistent, transparent and clear political course is known to all.

In political and social struggles I was and am present to make our lives better and our society fairer. To be Thessaloniki in the center. I served these principles and values whether I had an institutional position or not, and it is known to our thousands of fellow citizens who we met together.
