The extension of the deadline for the completion of the work concerned until 22 June announced on Friday 12/6 the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.

Land cleaning is one of the most important obligations of property owners during the anti-fire period, as it contributes substantially to preventing and limiting the risk of fires occurring and spreading.

The decision was made on the basis of a recommendation from the Risk Assessment Committee, which assessed the recent weather and weather conditions that have prevailed in recent times.

In line with the conclusions of the Commission, it was considered appropriate to give a brief extension so that citizens and competent bodies could be given a short extension. to be able to complete the necessary safety and efficacy cleaning operations.

Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Evangelos Tournas stressed that the extension should not lead to complacency, as the weather conditions of the coming days are expected to increase the risk of fires.

For this reason, he called on all the responsible owners to speed up the cleaning procedures and to complete the necessary interventions in time.
