According to a Reuters report, Giannis Antetokounbo wishes to continue his career in Miami Heat, with contacts between the team and the Milwaukee Bucks having intensified in the last 7-10 days.
ESPN says NBA's twice MVP has focused on the prospect of becoming a Hitt player, while the Bucks are considering swap scenarios in view of next week's NBA Draft.
The 31-year-old Greek forward is bound by contract for the 2026-27 season, and also has an opinion for 2027-28.
Although rumors of exchange have long been circulating, they have been strengthened following reports that the Bucks appear willing to consider proposals.
The 2025–26 season was disappointing for the Bucks.
Antetokounbo competed in just 36 games — the least of his career — as he suffered a left knee injury on March 15 and was put out for the rest of the year. Milwaukee was left out of playoffs for the first time since the 2015–16 season.
Despite injury problems, John remains the most important player in the Bucks history, being first in entries (895), points (21,531), rebound (8,882), assist (4,484) and cuts (1,088), while leading the team to winning the league in 2021.
If he eventually moves to Miami, he is expected to form one of the most powerful NBA tall twins along with Bam Antebayo, three times All-Star of the Heat.
At present, however, there is no formal agreement and the case remains at the stage of negotiations and publications.
