The original euphoria for artificial intelligence (AI) seems to have given way to a deep skepticism. The climate in public opinion has become considerably more cautious, with reactions now coming from everywhere, by students who strongly disapprove of any mention of AI during their graduation talks fearing for their jobs, up to the Pope and Anthropic herself (Claude's creator), who warn of the dangers of uncontrolled development.

Yet, despite the growing wave of distrust, the global use of AI shows no sign of slowing down. Instead, it breaks one record after another, proving that users may complain, but in practice they cannot get off.

According to recent estimates by Sensor Tower analysts, OpenAI's ChatGPT touched its elusive number 1 billion monthly active users (MAU) May.

This is a historic achievement. ChatGPT took only 3.5 years since its release (in November 2022) to reach this milestone, which makes it the fastest implementation it manages in history.
