One of the most favorite game series in Greece is without doubt "God of War". In 2005 we first met the State. The reason for Spartan semi-god, the son of Zeus and Callistos, as well as the brother of Deimos who struggled with... the whole of Greek mythology in three games that were much loved by the Greek public and not only.
His journey to the Greek world ended around 2013 and 2018 the State returned this time between Nordic mythology in one of the most successful video games in recent years with dozens of awards and international recognition. In 2023 with the "God of War Ragnarok" completed the Norwegian saga in an extremely satisfactory way, but PlayStation Studios and Santa Monica signing the release could not leave it to its fate.
Who is the new protagonist of God of War?
Today at dawn in a big PlayStation presentation the new "God of War Laufey" was announced and for the first time the State is absent. In his... position, as the lead is now the wife Faye (formerly known as Laufey). In fact the presentation took place along with 20 minutes of gameplay that seems to be playing right at the beginning of the game.
God of War Laufey is the next mainline Chapter in Santa Monica Studio's series.

The video started about the same way as the 2018 God of War, with the State placing Faye's body on a burning board and saying goodbye to her along with their son, Atrea. She then wakes up in a completely different place and seems to know the events that happened. He then begins traveling to a completely unknown world that we have not seen so far, taking part in battles that have God of War's classic way of fighting, although obviously the whole scene is very different from that with the State and Atreas.

A new character is the "cosmic cube", presented as the "afterlife of the gods". (The PlayStation Blog specifies that it is Everywhen, a place where gods of all mythologies compete for power. ) Some of the servants holding Faye captive look like enemies from earlier games, but the overall setting seems almost completely unknown.
The presentation ends with Faye trying to use her magic to successfully escape captivity — but this puts her right in the middle of a large-scale battle, where she gets her hands on an impressive weapon that, at first glance, seems to be as awesome as Blades of Chaos or Leviathan Axe. It is a beautiful blade that has some enjoyable and clever combat options, not very different from the aforementioned weapons from earlier games.

When will the new God of War come out?
Rumors of a game starring Faye have been circulating for a long time, although it was not clear exactly where it could join God of War's chronological order. Seeing Faye begin a new journey unfolding alongside the events facing Kratos and Atreus is certainly an interesting twist.
In the announcement there was no indication of the traffic frame, so 2027 is the... fastest date the game could come out.
