On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Nikos Kazantzakis, the Theatre Productions Gerasimos Skafidas present in Children's Scene of the Veakis Theatre the unpublished work of the great writer:

"The Winged Horse"

Nikos Kazantzakis, almost a century ago, made a story from the favorite and timeless fairy tale "Thousands and nights" and with his unique Integrity He converted it. in a modern and charismatic new reading for children!

In, Not so far away, Persia dancers, magicians, rope walkers and practicers, arrive at the palace yard on the day of the great feast to present to the king all their art and mastery.

Among them appears and a mysterious Indian which brings the king a strange and wonderful gift asking for an unheard of reward.

What gift would be so important as to put the King in mind;

One A horse, but not like everything else! A horse faster than the wind, stronger than lightning, elusive as the stars, which nobody had ever seen before. A mechanical horse that can fly from Persia to Bengal and from there to the edge of the earth.

But before the King accepts the exchange, he asks his son to test the horse's powers... The prince who has no idea how to drive it is dangerously removed from his place and ends up in the courtyard of a distant marble palace..

And adventure begins...

Because this horse could help to realize all thought and desire, but not just for good..

He could make a greedy king invincible in wars or protect a people from terrible enemies, he could lead a young man to his true love or lure him into selfishness and pride..

Because the horse was powerful, but it always went according to the rider's knowledge and will..

"The Winged Horse" is a story of rare love that happens once in a thousand years, a journey of self-awareness away from egoism and covetousness and especially a story about man's free will, his ability to choose his good and his path there.

It is a prophetic allegory about the power of technology and all human structures, which can be dangerous or salvation depending on the knowledge and intent of those controlling them.
