In an effort to strengthen the island's health services and to meet the needs of the Multi-Powerful Regional Medicine, the municipality of Sifnos offers a range of incentives to doctors who will choose to move and work on the island.
Mayor of Sifnos, Maria Nadali, speaking at MEGA, presented the measures taken to attract doctors at a time when many islands face serious deficiencies in medical personnel.
The benefits offered by the municipality include a free residence, a monthly allowance of EUR 300, as well as two free ferry return tickets each month to the port serving the doctor’s permanent residence.
At the same time, basic utility accounts, such as electricity, water supply and sewerage, are provided and a personal parking space is provided in cases where the residence is located in a densely populated settlement.
The notice concerns the filling of three posts at the Siphnos Multivalent Regional Medical Institute and specifically a physician General or Family Medicine or Internal Pathology with a degree of Director, another physician General or Family Medicine or Internal Pathology, as well as a pediatrician with a degree of Director.
The deadline for submitting an interest in posts expires tomorrow, Wednesday, June 17th, with the mayor expressing hope that doctors will be found as he says: "There is interest".
