Ukraine's president Volontimir Zelensky arrived in Evian for the G7 summit during which the seven industrial forces leaders hope to persuade Donald Trump to strengthen US support for Kiev in the war against Russia.
Volontimir Zelensky was welcomed by his French counterpart and host of the Emmanuel Macron summit in the gardens of Hôtel Royal, on the banks of Lake Leman, where the summit work began yesterday.

The two men exchanged a warm handshake and proceeded together towards the entrance of the building, where they were photographed without making statements to reporters.
A bilateral meeting ensued before meeting with the other leaders to discuss efforts to promote negotiations with Vladimir Putin on ending the war in Ukraine.
President Zelenski hopes on this occasion to have a four-a-four chat with Donald Trump who will be present at the G7 table today. The last meeting between the two men took place in late December at Trump's residence in Mar a Lago.
Trump said yesterday that he had "a very good conversation with President Zelensky and President Putin". "And I think we can do something," he added.
