Ukrainian forces hit an oil refinery in the Moscow district during the night, Ukrainian president Volontimir Zelensky said today.
"At this time, the Moscow district felt that Ukraine's long-range capabilities reached it. An oil refinery was hit at a distance of 500 km", wrote Zelensky in his post to X.
"This is a fair response to Russian blows – and to prolong a war to be ended".

Earlier Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin said Ukrainian attack with drones caused damage to an installation at the Moscow oil refinery owned by the Russian company Gazpromneft.
"There were no casualties. Emergency services work at the point," wrote Sobianin in a post on Telegram. The mayor of Moscow did not specify whether the operation of the refinery was affected.
The factory, the largest in the Moscow region, processed 11.6 million tons of oil, producing 2.9 million tons of petrol and 3.2 million tons of diesel in 2024, according to the most recent data available. The number of unmanned air vehicles injuries in Russian refineries doubled since early 2026, leading to full or partial shutdown of oil processing and reduced production of petrol, diesel and aircraft fuel, according to official data, social media and Reuters calculations.
The Gazpromneft refinery serves the Moscow region, which is so far among the approximately twelve Russian districts where a supply interruption has occurred.
Meanwhile the regional authorities of Krasnodar district announced today through Telegram that a fire had broken out in an oil storage facility in the village of Poltavskaya in this region of Russia, which had been caused, according to them, by the drop of drone debris.
