Seven arrests of anarchists, two of whom were converted under house arrest, were carried out this morning in Italy as suspected of terrorist attacks aimed at overthrowing the democratic order.
According to information so far, the arrested were based in Rome and also acted in Milan and Naples.
The indictment includes attacks on public infrastructure, which caused their shutdown. Two of the arrested are accused of placing four months ago explosive devices on the railway line connecting Rome and Florence. The damage from this attack had been estimated at 455,000 euros.
According to prosecutors, this sabotage was linked to this year's winter Olympics Milan-Cortina and to protests and violent reactions from anarchists against the harsh prison conditions of the Italian anarchist Alfredo House.
