In the hands of the Police is a 49-year-old, accused of a series of burglaries and thefts in shops in the Southern Suburbs of Attica. His arrest was carried out by police officers of the Southeastern Attica Department of Narcotics and Criminal Detection, while at his expense a case was formed for distinguished thefts and burglaries continued and professionally.
According to EL.A., the case was solved following a coordinated investigation of a special police group, which investigated recorded cases of burglaries in shops in the Southern suburbs. After taking advantage of information and data, the police spotted the 49 year old on the afternoon of 10 June 2026 in the area of Agios Dimitrios and found his action.
Shortly before his detection, the defendant allegedly had broken into a store in Agios Dimitrios, deducting money from the cash register.
The pre-interrogation investigation revealed that, at least since May 2026, the 49-year-old was acting mainly during the evening and after-hours. Wearing a motorcycle helmet or hood to cover its features and using burglary tools, he violated shops and removed money and mobile phones.
Of particular interest is his mode of action, as according to the Police, he did not hesitate to break into the same store twice within just two days. At the same time, in order to increase his prey, he went on multiple burglaries even within the same day.
Authorities also found that for his movements he used a bicycle, which he had removed in earlier time. During the investigation that followed in his home, burglary tools as well as clothing allegedly used in committing the offences were seized.
Nine cases of burglaries and shoplifting in the areas of Alimos, Argyroupoli, Helioupoli and St Demetrius have so far been solved. According to EL.A., the 49-year-old has previously employed the authorities for similar offences.
The arrest was taken to the competent prosecutor.
