Shortly after leaving the position of spokesperson of Syriza, Kostas Zachariadis on his post wanted to thank Socrates Famelos for the cooperation they had, while explaining the reasons that led him to this decision, confirming the rumours that want him to join E.L.A. of Alexis Tsipras.

"I have always been in favour of clean positions and decisions, especially in critical circumstances. In this context and given that the spokesperson must publicly express the party's line, I discussed with the party's President about my decision not to continue with the position of spokesperson and we agreed that this is the appropriate solution," Mr Zachariadis said in his post.

Referring to developments in the country's political scene, the former spokesperson of SYRIZA stressed: "By entering the eighth year of the Mitsotakis government, we are at a critical crossroads. There are new data on our party, as are the country's political system. The founding of Alexis Tsipras' party brought new data that no one can ignore. It also rearranges our space, but can also play a decisive role in shifting political correlations in the country.".

Finally, Mr. Zachariades wished his successor, Christos Giannoulis, good luck.

In detail his posting

"I want from the heart to thank Comrade Socrates Famello for the trust and cooperation, the employees at the Syriza-PS Press Office that we worked together every day – all day, the deputies and the director of the Press Office that we worked together perfectly. I want to thank the members and members of the party who trusted me and supported me. Finally, I want to thank the media professionals for having a good partnership with respect for each other.

As the SYRIZA Press Office -PS placed in almost everything to the extent that it corresponded to us, we left nothing unanswered and busy and left nothing to fall down.

Entering the eighth year of the Mitsotaki government, we are at a critical crossroads. There are new data on our party, as are the country's political system. The founding of Alexis Tsipras' party brought new data that no one can ignore. It also rearranges our space, but can also play a decisive role in shifting political correlations in the country.

I have always been in favour of clean positions and decisions, especially in critical circumstances. In this context and given that the spokesperson must publicly express the party's line, I discussed with the Party President about my decision not to continue with the press representative's position and agreed that this is the appropriate solution.

I will continue to work towards the development of a strong progressive pole of the Left and the Central Left with a governing perspective, a position that Syriza-PS has been promoting throughout the previous period. I wish Christos Giannoulis good luck, he takes over in an extremely difficult time, I will support his effort through the parties' bodies.".
