An attack on the opposition was launched by Kyriakos Mitsotakis from Voula, arguing that logical parochialism and promises are coming back to the public debate without a response.
"In the political competition today there have again been voices that believe that we can distribute money we do not have. Free 1 competes with free 2 and will follow free 3 and free 4," he said, adding that "free does not exist" and that "anyone who promises you will get them from somewhere.".
Comparing opposition proposals with government interventions, the prime minister noted that "some tend free access to public transport", while the government, as he said, has moved on to substantial measures supporting citizens. He recalled, among other things, the reduction of tax burdens for the new generation and the increases given to pensioners for the first time in many years.
Mitsotakis also stressed that, in addition to political confrontation, citizens evaluate governments based on the results in their everyday lives. "Besides the party confrontation, in addition to fighting on the channels, what interests the citizen is whether there is a government that can make his life a little better," he said, adding that the New Democracy received citizens' trust in 2023 because it presented a concrete plan on how the country can move forward.
Referring to early election scenarios, the Prime Minister categorically denied them, stressing that his tours and visits to municipalities and regions are not an election campaign. "Many people think I have started some sort of informal campaign, because I intend to run an election earlier. I'll tell them one more time. What I do here today I do for three years throughout Greece and I will continue to do until the elections take place in 2027," he said.
In closing, he stressed that it is the government's obligation to be close to local communities and government. "It is our duty to communicate with citizens, to stand close to municipal authorities and to solve problems," he said.

At another point in his speech, Kyriakos Mitsotakis appeared confident about the strengths of the New Republic in the face of the 2027 election, saying features that "we have endurance. We are marathon runners, others I fear will run out in the race until the election." She further stressed that, as the government enters the final line of its term, "every day counts", recalling that the New Democracy in 2019 and 2023 managed to build a broad social alliance.
Setting the dilemmas of the next election contest, the prime minister called on citizens to decide whether the country would return to past choices or continue the current course. "Are we going to experiment again with a solution we have tried before and almost led us to the cliff? Do we want to trust the people we know again that what they feed us cannot materialize them? Or should we trust a government that has shown consistency in what he said?" he asked.
Mitsotakis even linked the political issue to the international environment, noting that citizens are invited to decide "who will be entrusted with the administration of the country in a period full of geopolitical developments".
Addressing the new secretary of the New Republic, Constantine Kyranakis, the Prime Minister said to him "pata gas", stressing the need to intensify the political and organizational work of the party. As he said, New Democracy is the largest and most organised political party in Europe and has a duty to explain to the citizens the real dilemmas of the next election contest.
At the same time, he noted that the party should talk about both the government's work and its weaknesses, stressing that "where we have made mistakes we have had the courage to recognize and correct them.".
