Pope Leo praised tonight the interim agreement between the United States and Iran on ending the Middle East war, saying "thank you to God" that the two forces are going to sign it and officially on Friday.
Leo, who had provoked the anger of American President Donald Trump after criticizing the war with Iran, said he hopes the agreement to end the conflict permanently.
"There will still be several points to settle, but it is always best to do this through dialogue, through negotiations, and not by returning to war," the first American pope told reporters outside his residence, in Castel Gandolfo, Italy.
