The Iranian military threatened with a "hard response" to Israeli blows in southern Lebanon that caused the death of four people today, despite the announcement of an agreement between the United States and Islamic Republic to end the war, according to a state media.
"If the children's army of the Zionist regime does not put an end to its attacks on southern Lebanon, it should expect a tough response from the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the commander of the armed forces warned. Hatam al Anbiya in an announcement broadcast by state television Irib.
According to his report, Israel has reportedly violated the ceasefire in Lebanon 84 times since the agreement was announced on Monday.
Hezbollah: Iran will not sign final agreement unless Israel withdraws its troops from Lebanon
Hezbollah said today that she considers that Tehran will not sign a definitive agreement with Washington if Israel does not withdraw its troops from Lebanon, as the head of Iranian diplomacy warned that the continued presence of Israeli forces in Lebanon would constitute a violation of the memorandum between the US and Iran.
Israeli troops continue to control territories in the southern part of Lebanon, after three months of air raids and ground operations against Hezbollah, after the Lebanese organization launched rockets against Israeli territory in retaliation for the American-Israeli attack on Iran in which the highest leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed.
The hostilities in Lebanon were de-escalating following the agreement reached by the US and Iran in principle. However, they did not stop completely and Israel made it clear that it would maintain troops in the southern part of Lebanon.
Today, the Hezbollah press office has announced that Iran would put the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon as a prerequisite for the next round of negotiations with the US, which is expected to begin after the official signing of the MoU on Friday.
In the context of these, critical issues will be put into the microscope, such as what is to come with Iran's nuclear programme.
"We believe there will be no nuclear agreement between Iran and the US if Israel does not withdraw its troops from Lebanon," Hezbollah's press office told the Reuters news agency, first linking the issue to a definitive agreement.
Iranian diplomacy chief Abbas Aragci insisted earlier that "without the withdrawal of Israeli troops" from southern Lebanon, "the end of the war will not have been achieved." Iran's foreign minister stressed that the continued occupation of Lebanese territories would be considered by Tehran to be "a violation of the memorandum".
