The beloved and timeless Carawayose and Greek mythology They meet in the show Shadow Theatre of Elijah Karella «Hercules ’ feats“ hosted in Garden of MegaroEvery Tuesday and Wednesday night, from 16 June to 1 July.
Hercules appears as an impressive giant shadow theatre figure and, on his side with the immeasurable Karagiose, confronts bizarre creatures and mythical monsters. From Lernaia Hydra to Cerberus, every feat turns into an exciting adventure full of image, rhythm and twists — with Karagiose constantly interfering with his indelible lines, turning every test into an unpredictable, hilarious stage.
The main axis of the performance is music: King Eurystheas composes every feat as a demanding score, which his own imposing band interprets. But Karagiose interferes with his own folk orchestra — traditional instruments, folk rhythms — and rewrites the score, humorously changing the evolution of the feats.
In the garden of Megaros, the theatre of shadows acquires a new dimension: large shadows, giant figures, live music and an actor compose an impressive summer spectacle that brings tradition together with today.
