A few days' extension has been given by the Ministry of Civil Protection within the time limit for gross land, which expired on Monday, June 15.
The new deadline for mandatory cleaning and presentation of the relevant declaration to the platform https://akatarista.apps.gov.gr/ It expires on 22 June.
The obligation to maintain cleanliness shall not cease with the submission of the declaration, but shall apply throughout the anti-pyrotic period until the end of October.
The work required shall include:- Removal of dry and broken trees and branches and branches that appeal to buildings.
- Removing dry grass, fallen leaves and other combustible plant material from the soil surface.
-A branching of trees and an increase in the height of their count, depending on their species and age.
- Dilution of shrub vegetation.
- Removal of abandoned flammable, combustible or explosive materials and all kinds of waste.
Owners, tenants, tenants and sub-privileged land are invited to take advantage of the length of the extension and to proceed directly to the necessary actions, as removal of fuel is a key factor in reducing fire risk.
FinesFailure to comply with cleaning and declaration obligations shall be subject to significant penalties.
In particular:
A fine of EUR 500 is imposed on all those who have not cleared their land and have not made a statement.
In addition, a fine of EUR 100 is imposed on all those who have gone through the cleanup but have not submitted the relevant statement.
The submission of a false statement is punishable by a penalty of EUR 5,000 and a prison sentence of at least six months.
In cases of inability to submit electronically, due to age, disability, force majeure or other objective difficulty, the declaration may be submitted to a JEP or to the competent Fire Department.
If the owner has not complied with the obligation to clean and maintain the land during the anti-fire period, the municipality may fine EUR 1 per square meter, with a minimum amount of EUR 200 and a maximum of EUR 2,000.
