Born in Turin, Carlo Ginzburg was a leading historian in the field of microhistory.
His best-known work is entitled "The cheese and worms" (1976, released in Greek in 1994 by the Alexandria, Mt. K. Kouremenos) and tells the story of Domenico Scandella, the so-called Menoccio, a 16th-century miller from Friuli who was a fan of a strange cult, was expelled from the Inquisition and left his last breath in the fire.
