The development of Greek now enters the phase of the first traditions and the gradual activation of its infrastructure.

As part of the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, Kostis Hatzidakis, to the construction site of the Greek, he was presented by the CEO of LAMDA Development, Ulysses Athanasius, the progress of work and the next milestones of development.

These include the gradual delivery of the first sports facilities of The Ellinikon Sports Park from July 2026, as well as the installation of the first residents in the new residential developments since early 2027.

At the same time, Kostis Hatzidakis, who has undertaken on behalf of the government to coordinate initiatives to accelerate the project, announced that an important issue concerning the installation of the Hellenic Gymnastics Federation was settled, which, thanks to the agreement reached with LAMDA Development, will acquire new, modern sports facilities in Hangar B of the Greek Republic.

By the time the work is completed in 15 months, the athletes are expected to host the gymnastics on the one hand at the OAKA and on the other hand the rhythmic gymnastics at Tae Kwon Do for the next months and then at the OAKA Cycling. At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister noted the progress made in the discussions between LAMDA, the Government, the Region of Attica and the SEGAS to settle the issue of the installation of the track.

The Deputy Prime Minister said: "The big investment in Greek is no longer a theory, they are not even bulldozers only, it begins to take shape. Since the beginning of 2027 the first tenants, the first inhabitants will settle here in the various buildings, which they will have purchased in the meantime. Previously, however, the great Greek sports centre will have been delivered, as early as July, for use by the public and in September-October the official opening will take place. The government is here to help move forward this great investment, overcoming all obstacles, always with respect to the Constitution, laws, environment, demands of surrounding municipalities and surrounding residents.

And today I have the pleasure of announcing that another obstacle has been overcome, in a very positive way, the installation of the Greek Gymnastics Federation. The Hellenic Gymnastics Federation, thanks to the agreement reached with LAMDA, will be installed in hangar B, Hangar b as is best known to those involved in the matter, in modern facilities now. Meanwhile, provision is being made for temporary installation for 15 months, which will take until the new facilities are built: At Olympic Stadium and for rhythmic gymnastics especially at Tae Kwon Do temporarily for the next few months until next year at the Cycling. These are official positions on the part of the government. And I underline it, having coordination to promote the project.

I am also pleased to say that there is much progress in the discussions between LAMDA, the government apparently, the district and the SEGAS to settle the issue of track installation. I think we are very close to a solution and we expect to have the official announcements soon.".

For his part, LAMDA Development CEO Odysses Athanasios said: "We are already at the beginning of the 12 months of the completion of the first phase of the Greek. And that gives us great joy. In one month we deliver to athletes, clubs and the public the Sports Park of the Greek. Football fields, basketball, tennis, track will be able to enjoy everyone, professionals and amateur athletes and everyone who loves sports. We are also very close to completing the agreement with the Greek Gymnastics Federation. At the same time, we are very close to an agreement with the SEGAS and we are pleased that everyone is satisfied with the facilities we create. And I would particularly like to thank Mrs Sophia Sakorafa, Mr Costas Kenteris and Mr Lefteris Petrounia for their contribution to the achievement of these agreements. We had said from the beginning that the development of the Greek has priority over people and their needs. And this will start to appear from next month through the sports facilities that will be enjoyed by all those visiting them.".

More specifically, Kostis Hatzidakis visited the hangar B (Hangar B), in which the modern sports facilities of the Hellenic Gymnastics Federation will be constructed.

The Deputy Prime Minister then visited The Ellinikon Sports Park, whose tradition will gradually begin in July 2026 with track, pitching, as well as football and tennis courts. At the same time, he had the opportunity to see in person the track being prepared for the super-special route of EKO Rally Acropolis on 25 June. It is noted that sports facilities, as well as communal green areas, will be fully accessible to the public.

Finally, Mr. Hatzidakis visited the area of the Trachoon stream and the Little Athens neighborhood, where work progresses to create a new residential community next to the Metropolitan Park and the Athenian Riviera. In particular, it was informed of the progress of the development of Promenade Heights, a 79-house complex developed in nine buildings and expected to be completed and delivered for use to residents in the first half of 2027.
