And that someone is usually a punk, the one nobody expects and does not count on.

"Drifter", the Wanderer, is not human. It is a bar—but also the reference point of the book series that established Lefteris Buro as one of the most important representatives of modern police literature. And already from the first part of the trilogy, "Drifter 1 - The hand of the dead" proves that it has all the characteristics of a truly catholic novel.

The story revolves around an anti-hero 'pinaque', who are completely unlike each other, but have something in common: The fate of the man who draws their trouble and trouble like a magnet, and the orientation of someone or someone who can't stand the calm and ordinary flow of life. Which does not belong to the majority, in other words.

The heroes of Lefteris Bourou are protagonists from the reverse, as figures of the margin: A trucker with a hell of a roulette streak. A stripper who falls in love with an 18-year-old boy. A journalist who wouldn't hesitate to sell his soul to the Devil for an exclusive story. And, of course, a policeman looking for the truth by punching the suspects wildly.

All these anthropotypes meet in the "Drifter", literally or metaphorically, the moment a decent bar client, someone completely unmatched with the atmosphere, wagers what he has and does not have in the "Hand of the Dead"—a combination of the deck of black aces and eights, which looks invincible in poker. A few days later, one of the most dangerous muscle in Athens falls dead. And then the real game begins.
